Posted July 10, edited. Nothing else needs doing? Users of the original version of the Update Rollup ran into several problems that are now fixed in version 2. I will let another source do the explaining here. I agree that the safest method would be running "air gapped" or in a VM without an internet connectionbut if you are doing that then there is no reason to attempt to use Windows Update, as that requires an internet connection, nor any reason to manually install any updates unless they are to fix a specific issue relevant to the specific software one needs to run.

The rollup requires Service Pack 4 and Update Rollup 1 to be present It wouldn't be surprising if you were confused about all of this at present. Such updates are included in the English version but are not inluded in the Global one.

These issues affect very few customers and may have third-party solutions. But generally speaking you're right. Its not my problem, I only wrote this to inform, not to instruct. I have been advised that Gurgelmeyer's USP5. Then upgrade to a supported version upsate Windows.
That said, as a few people have mentioned, there have been some valiant efforts by others to pick up Microsoft's slack and provide unofficial third-party service-packs. I currently use Windows SP4 Rollout 1. With this in mind, I am now inclined to suggest to users that they should include this unofficial package into their Windows installation, as it does contain many updates and significantly speeds up the updating process.
